Automatic gates

Automatic Gates provide improved security, convenience and safety for any property including domestic and commercial applications. Whether you wish to automate existing gates or for the installation of new we are able to design a system to meet your requirements. All of our gates are bespoke and designed and manufactured for each individual entrance. The width, layout and gradient of your entrance can determine the best solution. Options include swing, sliding, bi-folding and bi-parting gates. Railings can also be manufactured and installed alongside a new installation or made to match the design of your existing gates.

All of our gates are produced from the highest quality materials. Steel gates are crafted from heavy duty steel and can have an optional powder coating and/or galvanizing finish for longevity and durability. Timber gates are manufactured from soft or hard woods with an optional stained or pressure treated finish in a design and material of your choice. Alternatively a combination of steel and timber can be collectively used.

Automation safety

HVC take safety seriously and is treated with upmost priority in any form of automation. Few people realise that when installing an automation system they are installing a piece of equipment classed as “machinery” and if not installed correctly by a professional the system has the potential to cause serious harm. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have now issued a number of safety guidelines giving details on the risks and the protection methods needed.

The HSE also requires that persons responsible for the management and maintenance of automation systems should be provided with appropriate documentation, instructions for use and training to operate and maintain the system safely, and recommends that regular reviews of assessments should be undertaken to ensure the system is maintained in a safe condition.

We are able to carry out a safety assessment of your system to provide recommendations of any safety works that may be required highlighting potential risk areas such as crushing, shearing and draw in. The safety works may include:

  • CE marking
  • Force testing
  • Infrared photo cells
  • Safety edges
  • Warning beacons
  • Warning signs
  • Hinge/finger guards
  • Emergency services access switch (drop key)
  • Induction loops
  • Technical file including details of safe operation and potential risks, project details, components installed (new and existing), warnings for safe operation, potential hazard areas, technical installation and user manuals and installation checklist and certification of conformity for new equipment installed excluding any existing
